India's ace shuttler P V Sindhu reaches the Semifinals of the $1,250,000 Indonesia Open Badminton 2019. World no. 5 Sindhu beat the third-seeded Japanese Nozomi Okuhara 21-14, 21-7 at the quarterfinals on Friday, which was the second last match of the day. Sindhu progresses to her third semi-final this year after India Open and the Singapore Open. Sindhu showcased absolute dominance to win the proceedings in straight games against her old rival Okuhara. After this match, their head-to-head encounter reaches the number of 15, with eight in Sindhu's favour. Sindhu will now face second-seeded China's Chen Yu Fei in the semifinals on Saturday. Earlier the Indian, who is eyeing her first title of the season, defeated Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt 21-14, 17-21, 21- 11 in a match that lasted for 62 minutes. The last time Sindhu had won a competition was at the BWF World Tour Final in December 2018, where she had defeated Okuhara in the summit clash. She is the only Indian to remain in the fray after Kidambi Srikanth registered a massive upset as he was knocked out in the second round after losing 17-21, 19-21 to unseeded Angus Ng Ka Long.
