The world’s second largest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) league, Professional Fighters League (PFL), looks all set to enter the Indian market in the next year. This comes on the back of PFL’s global expansion which also includes developing the sport in India.

The PFL is expected to conduct its International Qualifier Series in India during the second half of 2021. This move is in a bid to attract more and more Indian talent to the PFL and to give them an opportunity to fight it out for the million-dollar prize at the United States of America. Before the International Qualifiers, the PFL will also organise a pre-season open workouts throughout the country which will also serve as tryouts for the Indian players.

Earlier in September, the PFL had signed a broadcast deal with Eurosport India which will broadcast the live PFL season, playoffs and other championship events in India. The broadcast will also feature some of the classic fights from PFL’s archive, providing the fans a peek into the journeys of stars such as Kayla Harrison, Ray Cooper III among others.

Though the 2020 season of PFL had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the league is expected to make a strong comeback, mostly from April 23rd next year. With an ever growing interest in the MMA among the fans and PFL on a race to global expansion, one can surely say that PFL is here to stay.
