There are no corners left in our hearts that remain unconquered by sprinter Hima Das.

The golden girl of India's track and field events, today donated half of her month's salary for the relief of her state Assam, which is currently affected by severe flood.

Hima, who is presently in the Czech Republic, participating at the Kladno Athletics Meet contributed to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund on Tuesday morning. Besides her contribution, Hima tweeted urging big corporates and individuals to come forward and help the people in Assam to who are battling distress owing to the flood. https://twitter.com/HimaDas8/status/1151031705962196993 The Dhing Express has been on the headlines for the past two weeks by winning three international gold medals within a span of just 11 days. In her first competitive 200m race of the year, the 19-year-old runner had clocked 23.65 seconds on her way to gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland on July 2. After that, she won her second 200m gold at the Kutno Athletics Meet, also in Poland, on July 7 with a time of 23.97 seconds. On Sunday, Hima won the women’s 200m event for her third international triumph in less than two weeks. In the women’s 200m race, she clocked a much improved time of 23.43 seconds to win the gold. She has a personal best of 23.10 sec in 200m. Assam has been ravaged by torrential rainfall and subsequent floods, with river Brahmaputra flowing above its danger mark. Over 4,100 villages have been affected in 30 districts. Around 43 lakh people have been affected by these floods. Over 80,000 hectares of crop areas have been damaged. Authorities are running 327 relief camps and distribution centres in 24 districts, where around 17,000 people have taken shelter. Hima, who now works at the Indian Oil Corporation in Guwahati as an HR officer, donated half of her monthly salary for the relief. It came as an exemplary stance by the athlete which hopefully, will be able to draw other's attention towards the flood. https://twitter.com/HimaDas8/status/1151094957370777600
