KBC 11: I had an enriching experience with Amitabh Bachchan sir — Manasi Joshi

Friday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 had two very special guests on the Hot Seat, World Para-badminton Champion Manasi Joshi and Paralympics silver medallist Deepa Malik.

To start the episode, host Amitabh Bachchan began with the rollover contestant Sunny Prajapati who went on to take home 12,50,000 rupees.

Then, Big B invited Manasi and Deepa to the hot seat. The para-athletes eventually won a handsome 25,00,000 rupees, with a little help from the experts.

“I had an enriching experience during the show with Bachchan sir. Both Deepa ma’am and I had an amazing experience,” Manasi later told The Bridge over the phone from Hyderabad. “I enjoyed the questions a lot. While answering questions, my mind was going either like, ‘Okay, I know this’, or ‘Oh, I have no clue’. It was crazy,” she added.

During the show, Manasi, on the host’s request, narrated how she met with an accident and lost her limb. “When I was talking about it, Bachchan sir was like, ‘How can you speak of the incident in such a relaxed way?’ I think he got a little emotional, you know,” she said.

She showed her prosthetic legs, which she pointed out are very expensive. Manasi has been sponsored by Mallcom since 2018 who has supported her for training in Hyderabad.

Deepa also spoke about her journey and also about her foundation and how they want disabled people to be liberated. She then got a small AV played for Bachchan, as a gesture on his birthday and the video got everyone emotional.

The video showed a lot of old pictures and memories from Bachchan sir’s younger days. Everybody requires family support. So when you see a person who has reached a level as high as Bachchan sir has, was at one time just like any of us. It was quite inspirational, I felt. In his childhood, his younger days, he had to struggle a lot and from there he became a superstar. It’s incredible.

Then as the show was about to wrap up, Manasi announced a sudden surprise for Big B. She invited legendary Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan along with his two sons Amaan and Ayan Ali Bagash to play Sarod.

“They gave a superb performance. I had always wanted to buy tickets to watch them perform and then, as a guest, to witness them live from up close was something special,” Manasi recollected.
