A total of four gold medals and five silvers which is all topped off with a bronze after two days of the Track Asia Cup Cup at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi Stadium so far. Day 2 brought one gold and two silver medals for the top spot in the medals tally so far. There have been some great surprises so far in terms of unexpected names within India's Junior circuit showing some great potential. One such name is E Chaoba Devi of SAI's National Cycling Academy who stunned out home favourite Nayana Rajesh P in the women's 3km elite category to catch the Gold in Indivdual pursuit. This ensured that the top two spots remain for India. In the same event in the Men's category, it was Kashmir's cycling prodigy Bilal Ahmed who bagged the silver, missing out Gold by a fraction of a second. The Men's 3km Individual Pursuit saw Kazakhstan's Danll Pekhotin inch out in the final sections to grab the gold. However, it was double delight here as well for the Indian contingent after Venkanpa S Kengalgutti of the National Cycling Academy topped off Bilal's silver with a Bronze.
India's Swasti Singh notched up a timing of 2:41.123 to assert her dominance and claim the gold in the Junior 2km Indivdual pursuit while another Indian, Danamma Chinchakh from the National Academy finished second with an average speed of 73.9kms per hour.
Bilal, however, was the star of the day. The Individual medal won on Day 2 is the perfect follow up to the massive role he played in getting the Indian team to win a medal on the opening day as well which came in the 15km "Point Race" Team event. He contributed 19 points to get the silver.
The tournament is being organised by the Cycling Federation of India has drawn massive participation from 12 countries.
