We always talk about men's cricket getting all the attention overshadowing the attention and focus required for the women's cricket. But the attitude towards women's cricket is changing.

It will be unrealistic to assume that suddenly people will start coming to the stadium and watch the match or spend hours watching women's cricket on television. And as they say if you give people time, they will give you their time which stays intact for the women's cricket as well.

Finally it is getting all the attention and all for good reasons which was due for a long time. The current season of ICC women's world cup has been the most well received season in the women's world cup with India vs Australia match being the most watched match on digital channels so far.

Favorites for the tournament, Australia were bettered by India in the opening match of the tournament which is a reflection of strength of women's cricket globally as winning against the confident side of defending champions with such a young squad is phenomenon in itself.

What shows the growth of women's cricket is the fact that the opening match between Australia and India at Sydney Showground Stadium on 24 February attracted a crowd of 13,432, more than triple the record attendance for a women’s international cricket match in Australia which was 4,131 at a Women’s Ashes T20I at Manuka Oval, Canberra in 2017.

Also, there has been a significant increase of about 50% in the audience from what was there in the 2018 version of the event.
