Bengaluru FC drew 1-1 with Hyderabad FC in the Indian Super League game at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday. Bengaluru FC took the lead early and had several chances to score in the next 90 minutes but could not find the back of the net. A complacent Hyderabad side kept moving the ball and were rewarded in an unprecedented fashion as they scored seconds before the full-time whistle, thus stealing a point.

Bengaluru FC began the game on a very positive note. A mix-up at the back by Hyderabad FC allowed Sunil Chhetri to score right in the second minute. Gurtej Singh gave up the ball in cheap fashion in front of his own box and Chhetri found the back of the net. Bengaluru FC kept going on at Hyderabad FC for the rest of the game but never managed to score courtesy poor finishing from the striking front. Raphael Augusto had a chance in the 4th minute itself to make it 2-0 but he hit the side-netting.

A mix-up at the back by Hyderabad FC allowed Sunil Chhetri to score right in the second minute.

Bengaluru FC came close to scoring in the 24th minute again when Paartulu's brilliant through ball found Udanta Singh on the right, Udanta set up Chhetri for the shot but the Indian Captain back-heeled it to Augusto for the shot who had his shot miss the target by a whisker. Minutes later, Erik Paartulu's corner from the left side was not picked up by anyone and almost ended up with Sunil Chhetri to tap it home in the crowd of players but Kamaljit Singh bailed the home side out of the danger as he collected it in the 35th minute. Bengaluru FC had the lion's share of possession and were looking to kill the game soon with the second-goal.

At the end of the first half, the scoreline read just 1-0 which was not a fair reflection of the game as the Blues had 11 shots in contrast with only 3 from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad FC tried to change their approach with a more attacking mindset.

The second-half began in a similar fashion. Bengaluru FC looked to start the second-hand in the exact fashion as they finished in the first half. Hyderabad FC tried to change their approach with a more attacking mindset. They started committing men forward and were exposed at the back. Sahil Tavora was sent-off in the 55th minute when he brought down Udanta Singh in front of the Hyderabad box in a counter-attacking move from Bengaluru FC.

Hyderabad FC had a spell of good football for the next twenty minutes, trying to build-up from the back and get into the Bengaluru box. However, Bengaluru defence stood its guard. Bengaluru again came close to scoring when Chhetri set up Udanta for the shot which went with an evil deflection. A few minutes later, Bengaluru FC again burst on the counter. Kean Lewis just had to find Udanta Singh on the far side but his lack of concentration resulted in the pass being intercepted by Gurtej Singh in the 84th minute.

Robin Singh tapped home a ricochet off Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to send the Gachibowli crowd in unison and made it 1-1.

Bengaluru FC assumed that they may just win the game despite wasting so many chances. The missed chances came to haunt them just before the full-time whistle when substitute Robin Singh tapped home a ricochet off Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to send the Gachibowli crowd in unison and made it 1-1. Bengaluru players were distraught as they missed so many chances to score and Hyderabad equalised with virtually their first real dangerous shot on the goal.

Bengaluru FC will now travel to Odisha on December 4. Hyderabad FC hosts FC Goa on December 8. Bengaluru FC stay on second while Hyderabad stay at the bottom.
