Wednesday night in the Indian Super League (ISL) will see Hyderabad FC lock horns with Jamshedpur FC and here are the five players who we feel could have a huge say in the outcome of the game.

Aridane Santana (Forward - Hyderabad FC)

The Spanish striker had a great start to the season with a goal on his debut against Odisha FC. Standing at 6’3” tall, the former Leganes man has been a constant menace for opposition defences and is a huge threat aerially. Against Bengaluru FC too, he had three shots at goal in a match that was dominated by the defenders from both sides. He also created a couple of chances for his teammates, further highlighting the amount of work that he puts in every time. Hyderabad FC will again need their captain tonight against a hurting Jamshedpur FC.

Nerijus Valskis (Forward - Jamshedpur FC)

The Lithuanian goal-machine has quickly found his touch for his new team after an elite 2019-20 campaign. Even though Jamshedpur FC have other areas to work upon, head coach Owen Coyle should rest assured about the offensive output that the 33-year-old provides. With 3 goals from just five shots on target in two matches, there is no doubt that stopping him is the key to stopping the Red Miners.

Asish Rai (Defender - Hyderabad FC)

The 21-year-old defender who recently renewed his contract with the club has been one of the unsung heroes for Manuel Marquez in the first two matches. With 11 tackles, 5 interceptions and 9 defensive blocks, the former Indian Arrows youngster has been as sharp as ever on their right side of defence. His pace and trickery has also been on full show and as he gains more confidence, you’d expect him to have greater influence on the other side of the pitch as well.

Chinglensana Singh (Defender - Hyderabad FC)

The 24-year-old was an absolute revelation against Bengaluru FC in his first match of the season. Drafted in at the heart of defence, the former FC Goa centre-back had 77 touches of the ball and made 67 passes at 91% accuracy. He also made two critical interceptions as well as 7 clearances in the match, keeping the likes of Sunil Chhetri, Cleiton Silva and Kristian Opseth at bay. He will be expected to hold on to his place as the threat of Nerijus Valskis looms large but the young man should be confident going into the game against Jamshedpur FC.

Jackichand Singh (Winger - Jamshedpur FC)

The India international has one assist to show for his efforts in the first two games for his new club. However, he has been integral to Jamshedpur FC’s attacking forays in both games and has registered a healthy 13 crosses in that time. His partnership with Valskis is something that should make fans salivate and although we have had glimpses of what they can offer together, Wednesday might be the day when it all comes together for Owen Coyle’s men who are desperately seeking a victory.
