Bollywood actor Salman Khan unveiled the first look of the biopic on Hawa Singh, an iconic heavyweight boxer. Also called the father of Indian boxing, the legend will be portrayed on screen by actor Sooraj Pancholi.

Taking to Twitter, Khan shared the first look of the movie with the caption, "Hawa se baatein karega singh (This Singh will fly)."

The heavyweight champion Hawa Singh dominated Indian boxing for over a decade, with his greatest achievement coming after he bagged two successive gold medals in the heavyweight boxing category at the Asian Games in 1966 and 1970, both of which were held in Bangkok, Thailand. No other Indian boxer has been able to replicate the feat thus far. He came close to winning yet another gold in the 1974 Asian Games at Tehran, after knocking out his rival Bura in the final round. However, a controversial decision by the referee deprived him of what would have truly been a historic third gold medal at the Asiad.

Captain Hawa Singh also won 11 national awards consecutively from 1961 to 1972 - also a record that remains unblemished.

After retiring from amateur boxing in the 1980s, Hawa Singh set up the Bhiwani Boxing Club in the village, which has gone on to become one of the best academies for boxing in the country. Rajkumar Sangwan was a member of the first batch of students that Hawa Singh coached at the academy. Over the years, a number of Indian boxers have emerged from the Bhiwani Boxing Club, including Olympic medalist Vijender Singh.

The movie on Hawa Singh is yet another biopic being made on a legendary sports star. Earlier, Taapsee Pannu had released the first look of "Shabaash Mithu", a biopic on Mithali Raj, and Ajay Devgn shared the first poster of his upcoming film "Maidaan", being made on the life of legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
