Test cricketer Mithu Mukherjee lends hand to combat COVID-19

Former test cricketer Mithu Mukherjee has joined the like of sports icons who have contributed their share to the fight against COVID-19. She has pledged 25,000 to combat the novel coronavirus.

Not only her but the Coach of U23 Women’s team – Jayanta Ghosh Dastidar would contribute Rs. 10,000 to West Bengal State emergency fund to combat. Jayanta represented the Bengal team in the nationals.

A lot of cricketers have contributed to the cause. In a country like India where cricket is the most popular sport and people worship cricketers, this gesture of kindness will be a big boost to the nation.

There has been 1,024 reported cases in India and 24 people have died fighting the disease. The number of deaths worldwide has increased to 30,943 with United States of  America leading the number of confirmed cases.
