The first game was pretty evenly poised with the Scottish player giving Srikanth a real run for the money. But in the end, India's ace shuttler held his nerves to win the game 21-18. The second game was a lopsided affair, the bot from Tamil Nadu storming past his opponent 21-2! Ashwini Ponnappa and Niki Reddy paired up in the Women's doubles game to face-off the Scottish pair of Kirsty Gilmour and Eleanor O'Donnell. The Indian pair was too clinical in their performance winning the first game 21-8 and 21-2 in the second to ensure India wins the match. Although, Weightlifting has fetched all the medals so far, athletes from other disciplines are also making strides towards success.
