World No. 121 Yuki Bhambri qualifies for the Main Draw of the Australian Open with a come from behind 1-6 6-3 6-3 win over Canada's Peter Polansky.
India's top ranked Bhambri needed an hour and 55 minutes to dismiss the 26th seed, Peter Polansky.
While the Canadian dominated the opening set, Bhambri failed to pose a threat as it easily slipped out of his grip at 1-6. But the Indian is known for his ability to turn the tables, which was also visible in the round one of the qualifiers.
Dropping the first set, Yuki rebounded strongly in the second. Breaking his opponent twice ,the India no 1 registered a 75% first serves and a 100% second service points taking the set 6-3 from Polansky.
The third set saw Yuki keeping his calm and holding nerves when a controversial call cost him a break at 3-2. Not allowing the situation to grapple him, Yuki held his serve from then and came out all guns blazing to break Polansky at 5-3. The Canadian could barely recover from there.
The 15th seed Yuki Bhambri sped in full control by winning the proceedings 1-6 6-3 6-3
The Indian who had a narrow pre-quater final loss at the inaugural Maharashtra Open last week has now made it to the Main Draw of the season opening Slam.
This is Bhambri's third appearance at the monumental stage after making it in 2015 and 2016.
India's Ramkumar Ramanathan will take on Vasek Pospisil in the final qualifying round later in the day.
