The 2019 World wrestling championship is around the corner as fans all across the globe wait with baited breaths to watch their favourite wrestlers live in action. Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan is going to be the ground zero where all the action kickstarts from September 14 with the grand finale being played on 22.

The Indian men's squad will be spearheaded by 2018 Asian Games gold medallist Bajrang Punia. Punia also enters the tournament as the number one seeding in men's 65kg freestyle category. Shouldering the Indian hopes at the big-ticket event, Punia will be determined to change last year's silver into gold this time to assure a berth for next year's Olympics.

In the women's category, Sakshi Malik will be in charge of taking the mantle forward. India's first female wrestler to win an Olympics medal, Sakshi will eye to seal the worlds medal missing from her trophy cabinet yet. With higher stakes and Olympic qualification up for grabs, the Indian contingent is all set to step up to the occassion at the upcoming World Wrestling championship.
